What is an Akkure Medical digital twin?

An Akkure Medical Digital Twin is a virtual copy of an individual's health data. This includes genetic data, wearable data and lifestyle information. 

Why is a Digital Twin so important?

Digital twins represent a powerful health asset, owned by the patient. Digital Twins have the potential to revolutionize the way new therapeutics are developed and diseases are understood.

How do I create an Akkure Medical digital twin?

You can begin to create a Medical Digital Twin by undergoing any of the genetic tests offered on the Akkure website. 

Can I be rewarded for sharing access to my Digital Twin? Eg: be financially compensated, sell my twin.

 

At present, rewards for sharing access to Digital Twin data is determined on a case by case basis. As part of Akkure’s roadmap, we’re building a platform to facilitate the secure transfer of Digital Twin data, rewarding participants for the information they chose to share as part of this. 

Where is my Digital Twin stored?

The twin is hosted with our technology partner, Microsoft’s Azure cloud using industry standard encryption and cybersecurity. This is further enhanced by some of the features of blockchain including zero sum knowledge transfer and homomorphic encryption. It can only be accessed by individual patients using our proprietary hybrid blockchain technology which means the owner controls access.

Who controls my Digital Twin?

The individual is in full control of their own digital twin. You choose if, where and how your data is shared. 

How do I improve my Digital Twin?

Layering genetic services and sequencing your genetic sample for additional information and insights will improve your digital twin. Additionally adding your wearable and lifestyle information to your profile increases the strength of your Digital Twin.

How do I create an Akkure account login?

Do I need an Akkure Account to see my reports?

Yes. It is necessary to create an account to have full access to our services.

How do I find a clinical trial?

Finding a clinical trial is simple with Akkure’s chat solution. 

Simply visit akkure.com and click on the Akkure Trial Finder (located in the bottom right corner of the page). By answering a simple set of questions about yourself and your health, you’ll receive a list of clinical trials individualized for your details and matched to your condition.

Do I need to pay to participate in a clinical trial?

No, you don’t have to pay to be a participant in a clinical trial.

Where are the clinical trials available?

The clinical trials filtered by our Trial Finder have locations world wide.

Can I participate in a clinical trial that is in different locations?

Yes. Genomic data facilitates decentralized trials.

Can I participate in multiple clinical trials at the same time?

Generally, it is advised to participate in one trial at a time. Consultation with your doctor is recommended before participation in any clinical trial(s).

Does Akkure guarantee my participation in a clinical trial?

Akkure doesn’t guarantee your participation in a clinical trial. We assist you in finding clinical trials that are matches for your individual circumstances.

How does Akkure’s clinical trial finder help me?

Akkure’s clinical trial finder is a clinical trial matching tool that simplifies the clinical trial matching process. The Trial finder will ask you a series of questions to cross reference your information with thousands of trials globally, to match you with those that are applicable based on your condition, age, gender, location and so on.

I am not able to find a clinical trial for my condition?

Unfortunately there are not always trials recruiting for every condition, age group and gender. If you have entered your information in the Akkure Trial finder and have not found a match, you will be notified as soon as a clinical trial match is found.

Does Akkure contact the researcher on my behalf?

No, Akkure only assists you in the trial matching process. You must contact the research investigator yourself to confirm your eligibility.

Does Akkure play a role in my participation in a clinical trial?

After the initial matching through our Trial finder, Akkure plays no role in your clinical trial participation/outcome.

The chat solution asks for my email address and age, is this secure?

Our Trial Finder populates the clinical trials personalized to you utilizing the basic details you provide. After consent is obtained, your personal details are secured with the highest standard of GDPR regulations in place. Read more about our GDPR regulations here at https://akkure.com/gdpr.php.

How long will it take for me to get the list of clinical trials in my email?

Your favourited clinical trial(s) list is sent to your email ID as soon as you click “finish” on the chat bot.

Do I get only the clinical trials that I have marked as favorite in the chat solution?/ Do I need to mark a clinical trial as my favorite to receive it in the form of an email?

Yes. You only receive the list of clinical trials that you have marked as favorite on the chat solution shown to you.

How do I start over finding the clinical trials on the chat bot?

You simply have to close out of the Akkure Clinical Trials bot and click again to start over.

Can I use the same email address multiple times on the chatbot?

Yes, you can use the same email address as many times as you wish.

Can I upload any documents that are related to the search?

Yes, you can upload any documentation that will help us refine your clinical trials search. Upload relevant documentation using the attachment icon on the Akkure Trial Finder chat bot.

I never received an email with the list of trials. What should I do?

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please send us an email at support@akkure.com to notify us of the problem so we can ensure you receive your list of trials.

I’m not sure which clinical trial is best for me from the ones listed. How do I go about deciding this?

Utilizing your list of personalized clinical trials provided by Akkure, you can work with your doctor and/or primary care team to decide which matched trial is most suited to your personal circumstances.

Can I change my answer to the previous question in the clinical trials bot?

Unfortunately no. If you make a mistake, you can start your search over by closing the Trial Finder and beginning your search again.

Who Can Use The Akkure Genomics Sequencing Kit?

Many of our Akkure Genomics customers participate with their family members, including parents, siblings, spouses, and more. When registering your kits, you must choose to establish separate accounts for each individual on Akkure.com. This ensures that we secure access to an individual owner and person's genetic and digital twin data. All personalised reports are accessible and can be viewed directly on individual accounts and is a requirement to see all reports purcased. You should also ensure that each individual meets the following criteria as detailed in our Terms and Conditions.

- All Akkure Genomics customers must be over 18 years of age at the time of purchase. If you have purchased any of the Akkure Genomics Services for someone who is under the age of 18 you can request a refund per our refund policy.

- Each user you choose to purchase for must have their own email address and separate akkure account. All kits must be registered into an existing Akkure Genomics account. You can choose to purchase on someone's behalf but it must be linked to that individual's email identity. Each user will be required to undergo a "Know your customer" verification process to ensure the individual's identity. If you have purchased a kit for someone incorrectly, you can request a refund per our refund policy.

Can I order a test on behalf of someone else?

Currently you may only order a test for personal use. Your Akkure account must be KYC verified before you can receive the results of your genetic test. The simplest way to purchase on someone's behalf is to gift them with an Akkure Genomics eGift Voucher which is always available on our Website https://www.akkure.com/product/akkure-egift-voucher/

What type of DNA samples can you process?

This depends on the test being taken. For some tests we require a buccal swab, which involves gently rubbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab, and for other tests we require saliva samples, which you provide by simply spitting into a tube.

Who can order the test and receive the medical report?

This will depend on the test being taken. Many of the tests we provide are clinical grade and therefore require a medical professional on our team to both order the test and receive the results on your behalf but you need to be over 18 years of age. For these cases, you will have an online consultation with one of our medical professionals before taking the test, in order to fully explain to you the testing process and the implications of the results. The medical professional will receive the results on your behalf and will discuss them with you in another online consultation before uploading them to your Akkure profile. 

For some of our tests there is no need for a medical professional's involvement (such as the Digital Twin Starter). You can order these tests directly and will receive an email notification when the results are available in your Akkure account.

After purchase, how long will my genetic test kit take to arrive?

Genetic kits are shipped within 48 hours of placing an order. Usual shipping time is between 2-3 days (within the Republic of Ireland).

How do you protect the privacy and security of my genetic data?
